Miami Heat have been coming back to their usualy "ON" mode. So I guess this is time to actually the plan all along. Reserve energy for the Playoff and at the same time play super-awesome games. Even though is still round one and the real games are still to come later in the Playoff.

The Knicks really don't pose any real threat. However, Indiana and Chicago could be the real test. So I want to get into the matchups.

Knicks

• Forwards - Melo vs Lebron... so far LeBron has dominated. But Melo did had a comeback and maybe MSG could be an inspiration.
• Center - Here Knicks have the bigger stick specially with Bosh out. So Anthony, Turiaf and even Haslem would have their hands full.
  
• Amare - He has been a non factor really. Bosh even won the last matchup, so
  

Pacers

• Paul George - He can be a threat and go on fire which would be the Heat biggest focus.
• David West - Straight up shooter, will be a tough guard for the Heat. Batier might be the big man here on the D.

The Bulls would be the biggest Matchup, no doubt althought is still questionable whenever the Bulls can survive Boston.

It's been a month since my last blogpost and some stuff has been going on with my life at the moment. Currently I am looking for something to do and stack some bread. Meaning that I need money. After doing some sales pitches on some local colleges and working on a few classes on enterprise software and also some web development. I am currently trying to promote them and hopefully land a few gigs.

That said, I am worried about what would be the next big business strategy. Currently I have been scheming some plans on doings retriets to central america and the caribean and trying to land some gigs there and do some business abroad.

I still need to get some kickstart budget to activate that, but I am already working on it. I will be having just one flight abroad this year but I hope I can get some interest into doing some business there.

On NBA matters I am a bit disappointed with the Heat after the all star break and truth been told, they have been a bit sluggish. Not enough to matters since they still on the fight for the no 1 spot in the NBA but some of that killer instinct fuel has been running low. Then again, playoff is a different thing and teams tend to bring out the goods.

I hope things work for the better for the Heat but at the moment, the Heat seem to be not just running out of gas, but doing some major re-engineering on themselves.

Lately the Miami Heat has lost some games, the way they have lost games have been rather erratic since they start with the Heat playing good ball and getting on top quite fast. There are some elements of the Heat basketball that have been lacking lately.

Most of their losses have started from Miami domating 1/2Qtr to a 10pt deep on the 4th.

I wonder if the energy level slums after halftime. After winning a bunch of games by +10 pts seems that the team has been overburned. Defense have collapse and eventually the offensive strategy has been holding out of attacking the basket.

From a team that used to 'live' on the foul line, they have settle for bunch of long range shots that has not come through during the Chicago and Orlando game and even the Nets game when they went from 28 to a mere >5 pts diferential vs Philly.

The bench has been inexistent and even some odd moves like sticking to a rotation regardless if the player is having a good game. Although some players have actually seen some action like ex-3pt champ Jones, is only because Mike Miller keeps geting injured. Rio is also very erratic and just been on a down spiral on 3pt shooting % and even Free Throws.

So my hope is for the coach to get the rotation more involved on these weak games and get the starts more time out, and work on getting the third team up for the playoff. I think a Bosh driven 3rd team could do a good game.

Today I had another great dream, also a double dream but the first one was the one that I enjoy the most.

Imagine going just above the clouds, and dropping out of the plane and do some "cloud surfing". Literally grabing a board and brush the clouds as a rope tie you to a plane.

Of course is literaly impossible, but in my dream you could stay hovering above the clouds just like it was some kind of platform.

Having the experience of floating on this massive cloud that could be the size of a state, miles and miles of 'cloud land'. Being able to surf the cloud was a great experience and just floating on top of the cloud a very interesting.

Now, I know this in reality is impossible, for starter, one would freeze if it was at that elevation. Not to mention the lack of oxygen and other issues like sun radiation, and maybe just the speed that a plane will move to will be too much for a human body.

So about my dream, I really enjoyed the surfing, we actually wanted to start a business about getting people to try cloud surfing. I start advertising it and many people were interested into trying cloud surfing. From then on my dream became more blury and can't remember what else happened, but I do remember I went back to do more surfing. It was great.

After a 2 lost games, and somehow cool down on the way Heat energy level, they had survived the battle against Hawks, and they need to go back at it in Indiana.

Heat was playing a gigantic defense, but ever since, they had slow down on their attack. They did show up a bit on the third quarter against the Hawks on their comeback, but in reality I think they are going for clos games rather than take over games.

Bosh is being much better recognized now that he is back for a 2-0 mini run with the big 3 in their place. The thought of "Heat are small" and very low firepower in the middle. Bosh had some issues on offense and the Heat struggle, he was gone and the Heat struggle. So we can basically come to the conclusion Bosh is being the X-factor here.

In reality is really about defense, if more defense is injected, then the better the Heat will perform.

On a side note, the MVP race is a bit odd, they are having some MVP people stucked with a pin on that ladder as opposed to a week by week basis.

LeBron James and Dwight is one example, even with loosing and poor games on the week, they still have them on the upper echelon. While other relative good stars like Derrick Rose which only lost one game, was on the 6th. That sad, of course it seems the approach doesn't work like that.

I will still wish this organization was smoother.

On the Dunk ladder, was the WTF when LBJ 360 dunk, the first 360 this season was not included on the Top dunk of the week. Instead it was a Griffin somewhat average dunk.

FLISOL event is happening in late April but we are already at full speed recruting, looking for sponsors and promoters and setting up an even better event from last year. 2011 was great for the FLISOL movement in Mexico, and this year I hope it gets even better.

First of, we did a decent job documenting the event, making database of visitors and getting contacts from newspapers and shows. We also got some visibility online and also some recognition, so is a good time to build on a next level of recognition closer to the mainstream.

This year we have a stronger relationship with a few more companies and we are growing. We hope to have even more partners than last year. And I hope we are able to acomplish more on less time. We also have more time with some universities from the locality and potentially a better fit team to create events.

So we are looking for this edition to be bigger, greater and more to the point of what people really are looking for. We are compiling a CD full of Videos that users can take home and maybe even a software packages that explain the creation and use of open source software.

However this is not enough, we are looking for next year also as an opportunity to kick start new developments with budgets and more strong relationship with the different locations across the country. We want to launch an initiative to get federal funds for innovation and put it into next year event across the country, giving it more visibility and a relationship with innovation that can start getting some legs.

I hope we can do this with the help of some of the open source activist that I know through the years. Happy FLISOL and keep hacking and moving.

The superhero manage to sneak on the spaceship as it takes off from the plannet and followhim towards it's trip back home in look for revenge. However as he thought he has fooled the bug, instead it was just getting closer to the Sun, so it push the superhero towards it to burn.

I woke up feeling pretty hopeless for some reason.

I went back to bed and tried again with a dream that was a bit more traditional, it seemed like a movie from Benicio del Toro fantasy dream. Starts with a serial killer that takes the life of some visitors to a camp, he kill them with kitchen tools, like fry pans and stoves. Eventually the friend of the killer realize he is doing that and manage to leave in an old vehicle.

However he goes too fast and finish off the road and desoriented, he finds a japanese colony in the middle of nowhere. It's a village of japanese refuges and in that village a kid was in ove of this girl, it was winter so most of the swamps were frozen. He goes to look for a ring in one of the semi-frozen swamp to fall into and eventually the villagers found him.

The kid had a damaged vision and he sees everyone as monsters, eventually is put with another kid which on the dim light he seems like a very ugly monster. However he can hear him and eventually makes friends with him. The next morning he is feeling fine and that which he though was a monster was just the patch of the head who lost his eye.

And he realize while he is well, the other kid will never recover his vision fully.

Funny and weird dreams from today huh?

The event consist on having many more people involved and have a good place to share the knowledge on the topics. But also to have a more long term vision about the project.

Looking forward to 2013 from now is something that I would love to do, and being able to perform a national event with stronger presence will make it much better not just for the event but for open source in the country as a whole.

I think that the communication channels need to get off the internet a bit and more into the mainstream so that more people are able to contribute for real.

This means that more talks about how to contribute would be a good start to get things on a higher level of deployment and awareness.

This is what I fealt when I saw my friend Milo on the backcover of a book on APN (Advertising Page Networks). Talking about how to get started on web advertising, and athough it was a dream, it was so nice to see him, that I might drop him an email today just to see if he really went ahead and wrote one.

But hey is a nice dream right? I mean, it got better, and having fun with friends, when the computer lab turned into a whole party place, with friends eating pizza, seafood cocktails and chatting around stuff. I even end up picking the mic and dropping a few bars.

Yeah it was a short dream from what I remember, random conversations with friends to catch up with their lives but this wasnt mean tot be a long dream. After all, I already woke up earlier today, this was supposed to be a small nap. :) So this is my latest dream, short and sweet.

Last week I was working with a local school about the topic of social network in education. Is funny since just a few months ago I had an email rejecting the fact of using Facebook in Education, and later on I even heard it from other people how Facebook is just a waste of time.

Of course I know that by that, what he meant is that their students usually use it for crap.

I am a long time user of Facebook and our group, TQVCancun is founded really in this Facebook group.  However, I also acknowledge and see all the crap that is 'shared' on facebook and I agree with that waste of time.

That said, is a new day and I think that is important that teachers stop behaving like we are in the 20's and start for once taking the challenge and moving toward a digital life environment.

It sucks that is 2012, and most peope carry around Blackberries, and the SMS is a thing of the past, and everyone can have internet access cheaply, and even public transportation have wifi. Yet, we still behave in school as if nothing of that had to do with the class. They still using these stupid books, with outdated information and have a very low dynamics.

Funny enough, that was the week iBooks2 was introduced and the coversation about technology finally reaching education was reviewed.

The truth of the matter is that being involved in this education community such as OLPC is something that we really wish we could expand the idea of using computers to teach, not to teach about computers. And to once and for all break the digital barrier with the teachers and work as virtual community with digital presence and digtial awareness.

So lets get this straight, social networks are nothing new, virtual communities are all over the internet and tools exist focus to tackle the deficit of media to increment education. What I found however was interessting a wide range of talents from teachers that knew about the tools, to teachers that were so foreign to them and where basically already on thei way out.

As smart move from my part was giving a final survey to review the course where interesting things came to the surface, such as I lack patience to be a teacher. Which I agree. Thats why they are the teachers and I am the expert. Here is the full report.

Other thing that I notice was the classic posture of blaming the government for not providing. While at the same time, not feeling to go the extra mile to achieve their teaching goals.

But the most disappointing part was the lack of original thought. This information, which was a lot, should have been able to spark some original ideas and share them online, or during the class. I hope they were not just shocked and these ideas and techniques put to use.

Not just that but their game has gone down as they start to play more games every night. Not just that, but there is also some injuries affecting the team hard and I think that Miami will not win the best record already.

So what is the problem? I think they started the season with blazing energy, swapping the teams away and making huge leads. Sometimes even blowing out huge leads, but still coming out with the W.

The issue is that as injuries strike  and games accumulate they seem to be dominated quite easily by weak teams like the Milwakee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Even a tripple over time with Atlanta was pretty under the Heat expectations.

So now the number two team, the Chicago Bulls are actually quite the opposite, they have been consistant on their game, and keep awarding themselves with W.

The funny thing is that the Chicago Bull doesn't look that different from last year while the Heat actually looks better on paper yet have been through such drama.

So not just the Heat big 3 have an impact, but also the bench has been healthier than last season with Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem and the rookie revelation Cole, have make the Heat depth grow exponentially.

So what happened?

For once their game is off, LeBron and Dwayne are shooting quite poorly, and I think that consistency from the free throw line has been one of the biggest issues.

Poor shooting, poor decision making on shots.. LeBron has been hugging the basketball way too much making poor choices on a team that is not used to mid-court game. Lots of last second shots with bad angles has been a constant on these games.

There is also the factor that Dwayne hasn't really been healthy, a foot injury followed by a sprain ankle left the Heat without their 2nd man to give those fastbreaks a deadly combination.

Turnover's galore, too careless of the ball, too much bad decisions on dribbles to the basket and just ugly rortation or no rotation by the team.

I hope that the team can get it back together by the time they play the Bulls cuz is going to be ugly loosing to the team you are trying to catch up. Fortunately enough, Heat has step up with strong teams. So, I hope they can recover and finally get back to play Miami Heat Basketball.

OK It's been a long time, I've shouldn't left you, without dope beats to step to..

Nah this is not a hiphop post, but is wall I could think to discribe mi hiatus from blogging this month. And is not because I havent had enough things to say but rather I have been plainly lazy. So, to make it up I will list here a list of topics that I will be blogging the following days including:

• My thoughts on the Miami Heat, I think they are pretty tired since they are not being as consistent and are being dominated by weak teams.
• Experience doing the Social Network workshop on education, pretty interesting evolution of the course as well as results.
• FLISOL is here, wow already, well not really but we are starting early and we need to tackle some critical issues from past FLISOLs and get the wheels rolling for 2013. Yes! think long-term.
• Sugar strategies, it seems that this year I want to put more weight on the sugarcamp and OLPC related projects. Thankfully we already got things started in the local university.
• LA, DR, Panama, where to go in 2012?
• I need Gas, yeah, this thing is starting to become a whole story with plot and stuff, I just need hot water.
• Hactivism, SOPA, Megaupload, ACTA and my thoughts on the topic.

Today I had a funny dream, where I was the observer of a teen scary movie. A movie where high school kids go to their graduation and they didn't know they were part of a night from hell where everyone got to hang with a real life vampire. What is worst is that the vampire was the center of attention, the hottest most popular girl in the class.

I can't remember her name but she was so hot, dressed to kill, he was definitly killing them. The girl was in such a trance, that she just wanted some hot sex with an animalistic instinct. But everything started with them getting ready for the prom, she (Suzan) was wearing a hot purple dress with her other girlfriends, and the guys were joking around with her, thinking she was high.  At the center of the group was Sasha with the most handsome tallest guy of the group --Johny.

 So they got into the limo and eventually Johnny signal everyone to go on the other car as he starts making out with Suzan. I went with the other guys and gals to the prom center. However on our way, the weirdes shit happened, we start seen some huge bats hanging from the trees. One of them start flying toward the car and we realize it wasnt a bat but more like a moth. They do enough damage to jump out off the car and run toward the center.

When we got in we eventually see that Suzan and Johnny were already there. Suzan dance like she was on a trance, eventually the night is over and they come back. She was already pretty wild and start having convultions. But everyone thought she was drunk and got her to bed, then the next day Suzan wakes up a bit like nothing happen to find out the whole house was empty.

During the night everyone turn into bats and left the house. It seems that the irony is that the healthy one got a bit of Suzan DNA and got change over the night.

As they change into bats they left the frat house and the movie was over.

For some reason I keep on the set to tape Immature donig the outro song all dressed up like they only do and singing about vampire stuff. End of Dream.

Pretty complex, and interesting dream, there were minor details like an F15 flying by and other curious stuff like a weed out guy playing a TurboGraf-16 but in essence that was my dream, dont mind what it means.

Also even thought I put Aaliyah on the cover, the girl of my dreams looked more like my friend from Costa Rica, brown skinned.

What does being stable means and how my friends have achieve that stableness? For a while I have been interested on learning how my friends achieve what they have had and what things they haven't achieved. During a meeting with a fellow friend with the same first name came to review. Only 2 stories within our 60+ friends have been able to make a future of their own. That means achieving a way of living without the help of their family.

However one of those stories, I have been one of those. I most say I am kind of proud.

On the business side, I got a call from a entrepreneur from a content company for certifications on Linux and soon OpenOffice.org. Which is a great news to start the year, this might be the break that would give me a business direction for 2012.

Promoting their material and having an agreement that will allow me to grow business wise, will be great for everyone.

I hope when I get back to Cancun I would be able to find new ideas and will be able to have a win.

So the last post of the year as I will try to look back on my personal life. My achivements and things that I think are moving for the next year.

• A whole year living in Cancun, nothing like chilling next to a beautiful beach. 
• Flying to New York and watching the Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Mobb Deep, Immortal technique etc 
• Starting the certification for OpenOffice.org as well as the Internships 
• Building a new tech community in Cancun with Tequilla Valley 
• Becoming the technical lead for OLPC Mexico and country manager for FLISOL and Software Freedom Day 
• Giving some PHD classes on free software

Some goals for new year include:

• Expand the certification project to the rest of the world 
• Moving back to Europe 
• Going to ApacheCon and representing OpenOffice 
• Consolidating a olpc group in sugar development in Cancun 
• Push better quality and development community 
• Finalize the OpenOffice guide and bring it up to par with the english version 
• Give out a course on free software processes and environment for enterprise 
• Follow the NBA and see Lebron James live game

Yesterday was my first #DevThursday in my hometown, and it was pretty good althought a bit amateurish. The big topic of discussion was the old battle of the languages. PHP vs Java and also VIM vs Emacs. Most of the developers were PHP and only one Java developer so the development of course was more on the venue of Development high impact sites an large communities where PHP rise as hugly popular and almost unmatched. Sure there are many development projects around Java but the popullarity of Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Moodle and other communities working on code builted on PHP. On the enterprise side, Sugar CMS and other enterprises like Facebook basing most of their development on the popular language.

 Some of the arguments was the verbosity of Java, and the way JRE taxes the memory of most architectures and also how complex the language itself is.

PHP practicality to learn and deploy also makes it popular and viable as a business. The reputation Java on the enterprise has is also shun by how sucky the state of the enterprise is in Mexico.

C# and Microsoft was also mentioned including their Silverlight vs HTML5 argument about how Microsoft always seems to rely on the fud and how hard are the other platforms compared to them. At the same time, how most of this development become an issue when you need to debug and hack whatever the microsoft tools generate to them. Sure the tools save you time, but how much can they debug?

 This was the openner to the discusion about the text editors versus IDE and most specifically vim vs emacs. With Emacs being the biggest challenge but also being the most rewarding as a geek. Emacs legacy is one of the most talked about, the shortcut maze to perform almost everything you could imagine is like the wholy grail of the competent developer. While IDEs on the other hand usually confuse people as in developing for a language as devoting to an IDE. Something that shows the rookines about how real man behaves.

So the project seems that have been fully migrated to Apache Software Foundation and new projects seems to be on the horizon. From a new build, to other projecs like the certification project, the development project and others. The education project activities seemed that will pick up a new level and be able to work on team of interns and would also fuel the project for the initial months of the project within the Apache realm.

OpenOffice.org in 2012 will see more hacking and releases under the new developers pushing code from other projects like Symphony and even a new ecosystem with ApacheCon people coming in the project.

ODF would also see the impact of the new OpenOffice.org project and I think that it would also be benefited by other projects that work on ODF implementations.

There is also the LibreOffice project that would be pushing their way on the code and be able to modify the way the office suite work. Would be interest to see how these suites become something else, making them more hackable.

Good luck to the OpenOffice.org project in 2012 and I hope that many projects continue the evolution of the project.

I am very interested in this year Heat team. Although in part is because of all that commentary about this "new gameplan" by the Heat. From LBJ, Wade new 3pt attempt diet to a more fast and flashy way to attack the basketball.

I wonder what Eric Spolstra have in mind and why he hide their shooters when the game is on the line.

So the season is on and the spectacular plays that the Heat did yesterday were great. Wtih the other games such as Bulls vs Lakers and compare it with the rest of the schedule, it seems that there is going to be a very well packed package full of games.

First game of the Heat, they ran over the Mavs like it was nothing. Celtics was also beated by the Knicks and other teams like the Bulls make it harder competitors.

Magics seems to be swiming in mud, OKC seems to be revitalized, what about last years with the Grizzlies and what will they do this season. I doubt that San Antonio or Rockets will wake up this year, and even the Lakers seems to be finally out and about.

Even Sixers looks like a promising team this season. Today there are 12 games including some of the teams that didn't play yesterday like Bobcats, Hawks, Denver and others.

Timberwolves, Warriors, Wizards and Nets seems to be uninteresting while some interesting personalities like KG being dirty again.

So I am excited about the season, I can't wait to see Miami against Celtics next Tuesday 27th. So I have listened NBA Hangtime Podcast and I tend to agree. I suggest to follow them and see what will happened behind the scene.

Now we are in some big problems after the international playboy just lost his groove. After a massive blowjob his dick just no longer work. His soul was sucked in by the last girl he would have thought off. Now he is lost on his way to Cuba through Mexico city trying to look for the magical herb that will help him step back up. But lets start from the beginning, after being in a mission abroad he met with this tall slim woman which was sweet and passionate about him. She and her daughter lived in the north part of the city and enjoy having him over almost every other day. That is before he had to realocate to another place. Meeting someone new and spending a new adventure he still try to keep a friendly relationship. With the new girl, she was wild, they had sex every other day and every other hour. She was insatiable. And that was the problem.

Now from all places we all rendevouz at the Airport and the electricity can be sense. The watery eyes on my ex as she hold tightly to her daugther as she talks to me and looks at my current gf. Is breaking my heart see her suffer like that, then again it result me a bit more surreal the way things played out.
